My channel is dedicated mainly to the opera lovers
My journey to the classics surprisingly started with Miloš Forman's film "Amadeus". I was laying out my impressions of the first classical recordings at a friend's mom's shop.. She said, "Look, I have this record, this set, nobody cares much. I'll lend it to you. It's some opera by Verdi. It's called Il Trovatore."
I brought it home. I didn't know what to expect. It's like yesterday. I Can't forget the clash with that incredible lady who changed my life forever. One of the main characters (Leonora) has the aria "Tacea la Notte Placida" at the beginning of the opera. "Ascolta. Tacea la notte placida e bella in ciel sereno"- ......". And then it happened. The soprano's voice began to rise, singing crescendo "Dolci s'udiro e flebili ". The aria captured me in opera forever. "For God's sake, who is that? She's fantastic." I opened the set, there was on the booklet the name Leontyne Price.
