Hideyuki Mako had a strong interest in cinema, which persuaded him to locate to Los Angeles in 2001 where he attended Los Angeles City College as a Cinema Major. During his enrollment, he directed short films [METRO][TOILET][ATTACHÉ CASE] etc.
After having graduated, he worked on feature projects with up and coming directors such as Jed I.Goodman [DO NOT DISTURB] and Chris Sivertson [THE LOST], as well as veteran film directors Junichi Suzuki [HAUNTED HIGHWAY] and Tsui Hark [DETECTIVE DEE][FLYING SWORDS OF DRAGON GATE] etc.
