There was a time when it was estimated that one in every ten Englishmen could play either a flute or side drum. Flute and Drums Bands (Corps of Drums) were common place across the whole country. Flutes and Drums are the traditional sound of England as Pipes and Drums are to Scotland. Our aim within the Yorkshire Corps of Drums is to preserve this unique traditional sound.
