David August is a composer, producer, DJ, and founder of the record label 99CHANTS. Trained as a classical pianist, he bridges experimental composition, electronic music, and multidisciplinary art. Rising to international acclaim in the early 2010s, he has since built a reputation for exploring the intersections of sound, imagination, and human experience.
With four studio albums, numerous broadcasts and mixes, and a distinctive curation through his label 99CHANTS, August continues to expand the boundaries of contemporary music.
He has performed over 400 shows worldwide, including at renowned venues such as London’s Barbican, Hamburg’s Elbphilharmonie, and Berlin's Columbiahalle, as well as major festivals including Primavera, Montreux Jazz, Dour, Melt, and many more.
