She was born Courtney Shu'Nae Powell, August 28th 1987 at the John Andrews Hospital in Tuskegee, Alabama. She is the only and oldest child living of two. Courtney is a very talented young, African American woman from the Eastern part of Macon County, Alabama, a small town called Shorter, Alabama. She's had a very strong interest and passion for music since the tender age of 5 years old, where she first took her position in the spotlight. A local radio personality, The Communicator (Sylvester McPherson) was the FIRST person to allow "little Miss. Courtney" to perform. He was the lead singer of the gospel male quartet, The Gospel Jubilee. This was her time to shine, and she did.
