Crispus Attucks High School is a historic institution in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana, originally opened in 1928 to exclusively serve African-American families. Attucks boasts a deep tradition in music, as evidenced by the many icons who attended as students, including Jazz Trombonist JJ Johnson, Jazz Guitarist Wes Montgomery, and IU Jazz Professor David Baker. John S. Hague, a former student in the school's past Middle School configuration, has led the Bands & Orchestras since 2018.
