BBP launched just outside Nashville, Tennessee when bass player Ben Loftis infused some funky grooves into a batch of minimalist, original pop/rock songs penned by songwriter Drew Ruble. A more sophisticated sound began to emerge when percussionist Jeff Posnack added his artsy, unconventional, impressionistic beats to the duo’s primitive mix. Now featuring electric guitarist Phil Castillo, who adds vibrant colors and textures to the organic mix of genre-defying tunes, the BBP sound is complete. The band has been purveying its moody and melodic mix of ear candy that sounds like no other artist today in locations around the middle Tennessee area. In a sea of musical sameness, BBP distinguishes itself as a novel, new musical concept in the pop/rock genre. As one recent admirer of the band with a Nashville music industry connection commented, there are thousands of songs and hundreds of bands operating in Nashville, and not one of them sounds like BBP.
