Garlic City is an indie rock outfit from Charlotte, North Carolina. The band has turned heads with their mesmerizing harmonies and unique blend of elements from surf rock, shoegaze, dream pop and neo-psychedelia. The quartet consists of Elliot Simpson, Brodie Cole, Bayley Courtland, and Mark Eckert. Garlic City has made a statement for themselves around the Charlotte music scene by mixing various musical influences into one engrossing musical concoction. The project started in mid 2012, when solo musicians Elliot Simpson (vocals/guitar) and Brodie Cole (vocals/guitar) began working on a musical collaboration. Simpson and Cole wrote and recorded Garlic City's first EP at a local studio entitled 'Lost at Sea'. Shortly after, the project's growth proved to be too restricted for the two musicians, so Cole's brother Bayley Courtland (bass) and friend Mark Eckert (percussion) were recruited along the way in hopes of further progressing Garlic City's unique sound.
