Esham is an emcee and producer from Detroit's notorious East Side. He dropped his first album in 1988 at age 15 and coined the term "wicked shit," and later "acid rap," for the rock-tinged horrorcore he was making before the subgenre had a name. His music shaped Detroit's underground and mainstream rap scene.
