Thongs In July are a punk rock band hailing from the Riverland, in rural South Australia. They consist of members: Brady McCann (bass and lead vocals), Ben Leersen (guitar and backup vocals) and Wil Bannear (drums). After jamming in Wil's shed for a while they started writing their own music about their local community and Australian culture, reflecting their shared love for it. They record their songs themselves and Brady produces the tracks from his bedroom.
They are influenced by many artists, ranging from fellow Aussie bands The Chats and The Living End to Rage Against The Machine, Green Day and comedy rock geniuses Tenacious D.
