Growing up in Wakefield, QC, David Taggart, Rylee Taggart and their cousin Alex Serre watched their parents playing music at family get-togethers. Eventually the younger generation picked up their own instruments, joined in, and then took over the entertainment duties. Incorporating long time family and childhood friend Nick Johnston (also of Wakefield), The Strain produces an Indie/Blues/Alt Rock sound that is influenced by White Stripes, Phoenix and Arcade Fire. The members of The Strain are connected not only through DNA but also their continued striving to find that perfect lyric, that "just-right" note. The Strain has played well-received shows throughout Ontario and Quebec, alongside the likes of Ra Ra Riot, Dinosaur Bones, The Balconies, Kellylee Evans, and John Carroll.
