On our channel we showcase CFD simulations based on our professional practice. Most of what you see here was produced using OpenFOAM and blender with a couple of other tools thrown in for good measure. Our example animations demonstrate what is possible in state-of-the-art CFD simulation. Though we have thrown in the odd test simulation, most of the things we show are rooted in real-life problems we encounter in our work with industrial customers. CFD has come a very long way and problems that were judged too computationally intensive at the advent of fluid mechanics are now also available to small and medium-sized enterprises. We can simulate millions of particles (DEM), drying, condensation, mixing, moving geometries and much more in a matter of days. While there is still a considerable amount of know-how and expertise needed, CFD makes modern industrial design and optimization much more sophisticated and a viable.
