Maryanna Devlin's somber folk songs, are written about her life. She was born in Vermont, and raised in a small town about 45 minutes west of Boston. Although she comes from a musical family (her mother plays guitar and sings, and her brother was a prolific guitarist) Maryanna did not learn guitar until the age of 21, when she taught herself after being inspired by listening to Brandi Carlile's The Story. Within a few weeks of learning, she naturally started writing songs, and this became a cathartic experience for her, in which she learned how to process trauma from being raised by a mentally ill addict, and also from the tragic death of her brother in her early teen years. After living in New England, New York City, and Nashville, Maryanna relocated to Europe; a dream she had since her first visit in 2006. She hopes one day soon to return to The States. Maryanna has self released 3 EPs and is currently working on her first LP, which will be released in spring 2022.
