Formed in late 2008, Norwich, Norfolk's The Fall of Science played tech influenced metalcore. Their debut EP Devastating Beauty ripped out of the gates and led to gigs supporting higher profile acts, playing at small festivals and respected rock venues. TFOS played regularly and garnered a modest but devoted fanbase. Several line up changes ensued with the core group of James Franklin, Ben Ford and Dan Brunsdon augmented by vocalists Ian Bidle and then Andy Bass, bassists Nathan Smith and Rob Aiano and numerous guitarists but most notably Mike Pearn. After four years the troubled production of follow up EP Resonant, the uncertain futures of both vocalists Bass and Brunsdon and the realisation that, for men now in their mid twenties, the fabled "big break" was unlikely to happen, led to the The Fall of Science ending in early 2012.
