Welcome to the Youtube channel of Doug Spears, Cracker Tunesmith and Troubadour - a veteran performing songwriter with a storyteller’s soul. A rare fifth generation Florida native, Doug is a favorite throughout the state of Florida in concert series, listening rooms, festivals and house concerts and at similar venues throughout the U.S. Doug continues to tour and perform. His music is marked by thoughtful lyrics, memorable melodies, and a natural ease on stage that invites audiences to lean in and listen. He is often joined in shows and festival appearances by long time friends and collaborators, Ron & Bari Litschauer of West Palm Beach. He also appears periodically as Doug Spears & the Florida Cracker Collective which, in addition to Ron & Bari, adds Lon & Lis Williamson of Gatorbone Records, all mainstays of the Florida folk and acoustic music community. Together, they use Doug’s original songs as the canvas for eloquent harmonies and tasteful, tight arrangements.
