Rick McCawley is a seasoned photographer, UX AI designer, Curriculum Designer, and Senior Professor of graphic design at Broward College in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. He has held this esteemed position for the past 23 years.
14 years as a staff photographer for the Miami Herald, photographing riots, first photos of the rediscovered treasure ship Atocha, and documented the aftermath of Hurricane Andrew, and was part of the team awarded the Gold Medal Public Service Pulitzer Prize.
Rick is recognized as an Adobe Community Expert, an Adobe Express Ambassador, and is the author of 30 books.
18 textbooks on Photography & Design and 22 photographic monographs.
His consulting firm, Digital Renaissance, created curricula for Barry University, International Fine Arts College, the Art Institute, and the AS Degree program he manages at Broward College.
Rick holds an MA in Photography from Barry University and an MFA in Graphic Design from Florida Atlantic University.
