From NorthEast, DC, Mike Drayton, better known by his alias, NishoSoul, began writing lyrics in high school in 2005. (Mainly writing lyrics/poetry.) From 2009 until today, Nisho began releasing yearly projects. His range and artistic ability began to shift alongsidr frequent collaborators (Nicole Learner, Benji Armstrong, Myke Kewl, Noni Rene, SolLikeSoul, etc.) Nisho's "debut" album, Soon Enough, released in 2019, as Nisho's first full length project on all streaming platforms. Leading to the album, he (alongside Nicole Learner) launched the Cole and Soul Podcast in 2017. Their podcast shows black millenial creatives within the DMV area and beyond as they navigate their respective journies. Giving back to the creative community through the podcast, yearly charities, NishoSoul's "honest music" or "chillwave" oozes through his persona: Sharp wit, subtle/heavy introspection and a drive to go beyond his limit.
