Inspired by the earth, science fiction and the lush landscapes of Aotearoa (New Zealand), Nomadic is the artistic expression of Dutch producer and DJ Joshua van der Waay. Best known for fusing world-music with bass-heavy dance beats, his sound continues to evolve, refusing to be confined by genre. His songs invite listeners on a surreal journey, blending traditional instruments with contemporary sound design - creating music that feels both organic, mystical and otherworldly. His debut album ‘Wandering Mind’, released through the US label Jumpsuit Records, helped him build an international following and elevated both his DJ and live sets. He followed this with several prominent releases, including the ambient album ‘Ennui’ and collaborations with renowned artists such as Ayla Nereo, Skysia, Scott Nice, and Yemanjo.
