Te Karanga Charitable Trust has worked in the field of youth development since 2006. Our Kaupapa is to embrace multiculturalism as the emerging face of Aotearoa. We work with youth at-risk and young adults, facilitating strength-based programs in a wide range of mediums such as discussion groups, vocational education, career pathway support and one on one mentoring.
Through our platform & creative community workshops, we teach a range of creative skills, music and arts, as well as hands on skills such as traditional musical instrument making, business management and entrepreneurship.
We use these mediums as a means to facilitate youth to work together as a group, and to develop a sense of community and belonging, as well as to gain understanding of each other’s cultures. All the skills we teach lead towards a possible vocation; or to further career pathways and education.
