We’re Rob & Mandy, two Yorkshire dreamers who decided it was a great idea to buy a 300-year-old abandoned farmhouse on 1.3 hectares of land in Central Portugal… with zero experience. In October 2023 we finally moved into the Serra da Estrela mountains and adopted an entire farmyard family: 3 dogs, 4 cats, 1 spoiled house chicken, and 9 outdoor ones who rule the roost. We’re learning as we go, usually the hard way, and sharing the ups, downs, and laughs of turning this old place into a home. No polished tutorials here — just real life, plenty of chaos, and two people in way over their heads but loving (almost) every minute.
