Winit Tikoo is a Singer - Songwriter / Producer currently based in Thane - Maharashtra. Winit was born in Kashmir and the early years of his life were spent there, steeped in culture, particularly Kashmiri Folk and Hindustani Classical Music. A deep influence and reflection of the Sufi tradition of the region can be easily found in his music. Combined with latter musical influences such as Alternative Rock, Grunge and Blues, Winit Tikoo’s sound has developed into a unique amalgamation of these musical expressions, with Hindi/Urdu as his poetic vehicle. Winit beautifully intertwines Indian sounds into his raw Grunge and Alternative influences to create a unique and fresh perspective on Alt/Indie Rock. More recently he’s exploring analog synths, samplers and folk music / musicians from various parts of the country.
