Options Open emerged as the solo project of ex Endo Glen frontman Eric Gordon in the summer of 2017, beginning as an outlet for the singer’s unused songwriting material. His eponymous first album cemented psychedelic guitar progressions with carefully syncopated electronic drums. Enlisting audio prodigy Matthew Montes to produce his 2018 follow up album, ‘OO II’, Gordon’s style blossomed with more baroque arrangements, rich atmospheres, and confident solos. Amid a smattering of solo shows driven by acoustic guitar, drum machines, and synthesizer, Gordon and Montes began production on Options Open’s third album last fall. Virtuoso drummer and percussionist Nick Wagner subsequently joined the project, in time for recording of the upcoming EP ‘The Mode’, that officially wrapped in late spring of 2019. The freshly minted duo are already at work on another album's worth of material, with more collaborations forthcoming.
