The Las Vegas Jazz Society was founded April 22, 1975 by Monk Montgomery, renown jazz artist and pioneer of the of the use of the electric bass in jazz. The Las Vegas Jazz Society's purpose is to provide an opportunity for those who appreciate jazz to meet, exchange ideas, participate in common objectives, and share their common interest in jazz music.
