Known for her deep and thoughtful interpretations of the Great American Songbook, San Francisco Bay Area native Lori Carsillo (pronounced “car-SILL-oh”) was raised on a healthy diet of Julie London, Ella Fitzgerald, Miles Davis, Bill Evans, and other jazz greats. With an incisive but emotionally restrained sensibility, her unaffected, less-is-more sound shines on multiple albums and singles. In recent years, Carsillo has delved into producing and composing music for independent film. Her original compositions have been featured in short films, including “Out of the Blue” for Gloria (2018) and "Monsters and Madness" for Welcome to the Strange (2018). Her first foray into country music is “Pretty Mess”, a hustler's anthem written for the short film Lemonade (2023) directed by Daryl Della. A stunning music video was filmed for the song in Austin, TX by Lemonade’s director and shot in the same bar that was used as a location in the film.
