Prof. B. K. Chakravarthy is a dedicated educator and innovator who is currently the Founding Dean of the School of Design Innovation at Mahindra University Hyderabad .Demonstrating his unwavering belief in design's transformative potential for development, Prof. Chakravarthy actively collaborates with government agencies and occupational communities engaged in essential services. These fruitful collaborations have yielded remarkable and unique products, such as a maintenance-free letterbox for India Post, a domestic arsenic filter for Varanasi, and a palanquin for pilgrims visiting the revered shrine of Shri Mata Vaishnav Devi. His endeavor is to bring students' projects to market, which culminated in a portfolio of 26 patents and technology transfers with industry partners. The methodologies and practices are documented as video case studies under the Open Design School project of the Ministry of Education.
