The Countess is primarily a one-woman band in Washington, DC. Raw, vulnerable, and lo-fi -- a woman with her beats, glockenspiel, synths, ukulele, guitar, and vocals
The Countess started playing music solo in 2016 as a direct response to and treatment of depression. There is a way that writing helps the artist process emotions and experiences that allow her to pull apart the pieces to inspect, set aside, reform, and reflect. All the things that might be messy, confusing, or weighty are still those things. In songs, they're repackaged in something with a bit of structure and are given some respect to stand on their own as tiny little imperfect audible altars.
Formerly of The Long Tangles and The Heirs.
Formerly of Richmond, VA; Austin, TX; New Orleans, LA; Phoenix, AZ
