The Novelty Items are a five-piece indie rock band from Newport, Wales. Since forming at school a few years ago we have achieved a lot, including playing The Coal Exchange at the final of Cardiff's Got Talent, opening the TJ's Reunion John Sicolo Tribute at Six Feet Under and recording our EP "Delays", which is available now. Our music has been played on Cardiff University's student radio station Xpress as well as Newport City Radio. A live acoustic performance on Newport City Radio was the most-listened-to and most-downloaded installment of the station's 'Mainstream Mixup' show. We are always playing gigs, mostly in Cardiff, Newport and the surrounding area, and have many exciting things to look forward to in 2013; for example, our EP is currently being mastered at Abbey Road studios in London! We are also competing in Newport's famous Battle of the Bands at Meze Lounge this year. Check out the "Upcoming Gigs" section of this website for more details.
