The Alberta Teachers' Association, Professional Development The mandate of the ATA Professional Development program area is to promote and maintain high standards of professional practice. Program area activities include matters related to pedagogy, curriculum and student assessment, social justice, leadership and staff development, teacher education and induction, technology integration, and educational accountability. The ATA Professional Development program area offers a wide range of programs and services to teachers, school staff and Association subgroups (locals, teachers’ conventions and specialist councils) and provides representation to education partners.
