This channel is about our families' dream: sailing around the world, and how we are getting to it. So why "Knotty Maria"? My wife's name is Maria, and she is good at bondage....just kidding. Just seemed to be a cool and funny name for a boat, thats all.
Step One: get the cheapest boat you can find and learn how to sail.
As almost everyone, we are on a budget. We are starting with a small and cheap boat, in hopes to learn the skills required and move onto bigger and better boats.
So far we have: 1970ish Cal 20 sailboat + trailer (steal of a deal: $350) and 1986 F-250 to move it in and out of the water ($900). Figured that it will be cheaper to buy a truck rather than pay for moorage.
