Half Step Revolution isn’t your typical jazz-fusion band — it’s a collision of groove, grit, and fearless creativity born from Montgomery, Alabama’s jam-session scene. The spark hit in summer 2025 when bassist Joe Lauziere and keyboardist/saxophonist/vocalist Tim Stuart connected at Prevail Union’s Thursday Night Jazz Jams. Across town, guitarist Matt Clements was lighting up Sam Williams’ Sunday Night Jam at Red Bluff Bar. When Tim sat in, the chemistry was instant. Drummer Isaac Hayes joined soon after, locking in the deep-pocket groove that defines the band.
