The mission of the Humane Society of Chittenden County (HSCC) is to foster compassionate treatment of animals and prevent animal suffering; to strengthen the human-animal bond; and to further the cause of responsible animal ownership through education and public awareness. HSCC is a private, independent, 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization that receives no city, state or federal funding & we are not affiliated with any national organizations. Founded in 1901, HSCC has been serving both animals and people for well over 100 years!
