Natasha Blackwood is a singer, songwriter, composer, and saxophonist based in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador. She is a proud member of local bands Eastern Owl and Jazz East Big Band, and can often be found as a session musician, having recorded and performed with the likes of The Burning Hell, Ilia Nicoll, Amelia Curran, and Doctor Androbox. Her sophomore solo album “Love Songs for Good Machines” (2024) is a jazz album with pop sensibilities, rooted in modern-day folk storytelling. It was produced by JUNO-award winning songwriter Amelia Curran, and features jazz greats such as Bill Brennan and Duane Andrews. These ten original songs have been getting national and international radio play and media attention, being celebrated for an innovative sound, interesting arrangements, masterful musicianship, and compelling storytelling.
