Hi I’m Miku and to put it simply, I am a massive foodie. My dad’s a chef so food’s serious business in our household. My parents are Japanese but I grew up in London, which meant that we couldn’t always eat Japanese food. Like many people, I love to watch food/travel videos but I often find that I can’t cook dishes because we don’t have access to the same ingredients. Back in the day, you were lucky if you had soy sauce. These days we have more things available but we still can’t get many things due to import restrictions or they’re ridiculously expensive. So, over the years, I’ve used substitutes to recreate dishes without spending a fortune. Tasty and comforting Asian food but totally achievable even if you don’t live in Asia.
This is a collection of recipes that I can cook with the least amount of fuss and yet brings me huge amounts of comfort. I hope it adds some joy into your kitchens too. Let me know if you try any of these recipes or have some handy tips too!
Happy cooking :)
