My Dog Ate Chad is an alt-rock band, originating in Fort Collins, CO. The band was formed in 2016, during October. The band members met whilst all going to the same school, Polaris Expeditionary Learning School. The band plays mostly covers but is putting together more original content for a potential first album release. When they started out, they had one more member than they do now. Shai Burd was a backup vocalist and played the ukulele. The band members now consist of lead singer and guitarist; Nicholas Cutbirth, known by most as Nico; bassist, Ben Scheibly; Keyboardist, Matan Birnbaum; and drummer/secondary vocalist, Jackson Smith. The band is influenced by multiple bands. Main influences include Pink Floyd, Alice in Chains, Audioslave, and Band of Horses. While these bands are mostly made up of alternative and classic rock, all of them also have songs that fit under different genres, making for diverse influence.
