Founded by Zam Khan Suan (also known as Sia Suanno / Z.K. Suanno), Zomi Vocal Band officially debuted on August 31, 2013
Z.K. Suanno is the creative force behind the band, composing nearly all of their songs and bringing together a family ensemble. He is married to Sarah Lunbuah, who is also a band member, and together with their children—Abraham Kham, Stephen Muanpi, Manglyan, Michael Tuang—plus their daughter-in‑law Rachel Niang (married to Abraham)—they form the core of Zomi Vocal Band.
Z.K. Suanno began his musical journey back in 1996 when he joined Dorcas Unau for the album Phat Ding Kilawm, writing and performing much of the material. In 2004, he teamed with Dorcas Unau again on Betlen Aksi, composing most of the album’s songs.
Since then, the family-driven Zomi Vocal Band has released multiple albums across gospel, pop, rock, and spoken‑word genres, with Z.K. Suanno as the principal songwriter and occasional contributions from Stephen Muanpi.
