AASHTOWare Bridge Design and AASHTOWare Bridge Rating are software products for bridge design and load rating, developed by AASHTO. They store detailed bridge descriptions in a common database, which supports two or three-dimensional bridge descriptions for 3-D modeling and analysis of special vehicle configurations. The products share much of their user interface and database, allowing a bridge to be designed and immediately rated without re-entering data. Storing generic bridge descriptions in a database has many benefits, including the ability to upgrade components of the system while preserving the basic bridge data and easily linking to other related software systems. The products are licensed by more than 41 state transportation agencies.
