The All-Star Buglers began calling horses to post at major racing events on July 13, 1997 at Delaware Park. Between 1997 and 2019, the group performed 271 times, with 225 of those performances at 34 race tracks in 18 states & Canada. Highlights include performances @ The Belmont Stakes (G1), The Breeders' Cup World Thoroughbred Championships (G1), The Hambletonian, MLB games in Tampa and Philadelphia & an appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman.
The group employed 42 musicians (37 trumpeters) over the years and they were the most sought after trumpet ensemble for major horse racing events throughout North America. The decline of horse racing in the 21st century means fewer tracks are employing a live bugler and even fewer are employing trumpet ensembles. Because of this coupled with the pandemic, the group ceased operations in 2019.
