Georgetown, the Bluebilly Folk Pop band from Pretoria, South Africa, was formed in February 2014 by Michael de Villiers, Renaldo van Dyk, Rynier Prins, and Tiaan Erasmus. Their captivating blend of classics and local influences, rooted in diverse Southern Africa, is presented through a variety of instruments, including acoustic guitar, piano, upright bass, and more.
Their debut EP, "Banana Jack," arrived in 2016, followed by the full-length album "The Dog Show" in 2018. Now, Georgetown is set to release their third studio album, "Wrong Key Baby, Right Keyhole," on March 15, 2024. This evolution in sound combines folk-pop ballads with tight harmonies and Pop rock inspired by the 70s, maintaining their authentic southern folk undertones. The band has explored Afrikaans music through collaborations with Bacchus Nel and introduced an original Afrikaans song.
