St. Mark Coptic Orthodox Church is served by Hegomen Fr. Bishoy George, Fr. Polycarpus Shoukry, and Fr. Makary Botros. This is the first of seven Houston area Coptic Orthodox churches and a member of the Coptic Orthodox Diocese of the Southern United States under the auspices of H.E. Metropolitan Youssef and H.G. Bishop Gregory. Additionally, it was the first church built as a dedicated Coptic Orthodox Church in the United States when it was completed in 1977. Over the last 40 years, the congregation of the church has continued to grow, and currently numbers over 300 families. To better serve the congregation, a large-scale expansion began in 2008, and on November 1, 2009, the first liturgy was conducted in the new church building.
