The New Science emerged in early 2019 as a new proposal of experimental, alternative rock and art rock music, with influences based on 80s post punk, progressive and new wave sounds. Formed in Guadalajara, Mexico, by the brothers Benjamin Garcia (voice) and Taviani Garcia (guitar), the name of the band is a reference from one Benjamin´s favorite songs, "The New Science" by Ola Podrida. Later in the same year Omar Garcia (Bass) and Marconi Laris (Drums) joined the band when they were invited to collaborate with the project at The Oven Recording Studio, when Ghosts in the City EP was being recorded there by Diego Romero as producer. Finally Juan Ocegueda (Keyboards) met them all at his studio when they were having a rehearsal, so he proposed to join them with third guitar and keys. Ghosts in the City is their first album, released in August 2019, which is a 6 song EP, all of them referring to personal memories and events these brothers have had.
