I'm Ross K. Nichols, an independent scholar, author, and educator dedicated to the historical and objective study of the Bible. I founded and lead the HOREB Institute, based at The Athenæum in Jackson, Louisiana.
My books include The Moses Scroll (2021), These Are the Words: Essential Biblical Hebrew Vocabularies (2022, now with a 2025 Transliteration Edition for beginners), and the complete Torah Tablet series—interactive, scroll-inspired notebooks covering Genesis through Deuteronomy.
Having led multiple tours in Israel and Jordan, I share on-the-ground insights into biblical history. I’ve lectured at the Albright Institute in Jerusalem and have a forthcoming entry on the “Shapira Fragments” in Brill’s Encyclopedia of the Dead Sea Scrolls.
