The purpose of “Off Duty’ is to provide some ‘me’ time for carers, in a welcoming atmosphere surrounded by people with similar experiences. Formed in January this year supported by Bridgend County Borough Council and developed by Awen Cultural Trust in partnership with Bridgend Carers Centre and Evergreen Hall. It is open to those with any level of prior singing experience, learning familiar songs by ear with some simple two-part harmonies with rehearsals being every Monday (except for public and school holidays) in Evergreen Hall from 11am ‘till 12:30pm. Members contribute £3.50 each per session to help with refreshments. Our own original single titled 'Strong' is available now to down load with all proceeds going to Carers UK.
