Founded in 1976, the Montreal Holocaust Museum (MHM) educates about the Holocaust and raises awareness of antisemitism, racism, hatred, and indifference. With its museum, commemorative programs, and educational initiatives, the Center promotes collective responsibility for diversity and the sanctity of all human life. Its mandate also includes preserving and conserving history, artifacts, and survivor testimonies; commemorating the victims; honoring the survivors; and passing on the memory. The collection comprises nearly 13,000 objects, documents, and photographs collected since the Center's inception. It is unique in Canada, where the MHM remains the only Holocaust museum.
