The New Nicotine Alliance is registered charity in the United Kingdom that works to develop greater understanding of nicotine and related reduced harm products. It seeks to share knowledge, educate and improve understanding, and influence policy and legislative decisions. The charity is completely independent of commercial interests in relevant industries (e-cigarettes, tobacco, pharmaceutical companies, etc). It operates on a not-for-profit basis and is free from commercial bias. Its policies and public statements are evidence-based, with a clear focus on the health of consumers and the wider public. The NNA is entirely governed by its Board of Trustees, all unpaid volunteers, who are drawn from the scientific/tobacco harm reduction communities and from the ranks of the “new nicotine” consumers.
