Welcome to my channel—I'm Ukie May! I’m a multi-instrumentalist rooted in Appalachian tradition. While I mostly play ukulele in an old-time style, I started out on mandolin and fiddle, and I’ve also played banjo, charango, guitar, cello, dulcimer, viola, and harpejji. Here you’ll find mountain melodies, traditional tunes, and original interpretations of folk music. I also share rare fiddle tunes passed down from my late teacher, Dan Kelly, who was awarded with the Grand Masters Fiddle Champion title by the Grand Ole Opry. He was one of the finest old-time fiddlers in the country. He also held awards in several states as well as in Canada. It’s my hope that this music brings a little joy to your day, just as it has to mine in the making of this channel.
