Patrick Butler has studied and played guitar with some of the icons of Funk, Rock, Jazz and Celtic music.
He has studied with guitarists Harry Leahey, Uli Roth, and Roland Prince. Leahey was a student of Johhny Smith and Dennis Sandole. Right out of high school Butler played with jazz legends Richie Cole and James Spaulding. Butler was a member of The Fatback Band, The first record he recorded with Fatback, Brite Lites/Big City, went gold. Butler spent several years touring with Fatback.
Moving to LA he led funk rock band Unstoppable and recorded with Stephen Perkins and Flea on the first Banyan release. In the new millennium Butler led and toured with the Celtic rock band Superkeltic.
During last decade he has released eight Jazz CDs which all charted in top 100 on Jazz charts. Butler currently plays with the Long Beach, CA-based MajicBulletTheory.
