Bury Hospice provides care and support to those who have been diagnosed with a life- limiting illness from diagnosis to end of life care. As a hospice we look after a population of over 190,000 (2018), in the Metropolitan Borough of Bury, which is a diverse area of six separate and distinct towns; Bury, Prestwich, Whitefield, Radcliffe, Tottington and Ramsbottom.
We support service users from diagnosis to end-of-life promoting Living Well, providing care for 460 patients and their families each year along with education and training for partner providers each year. The Hospice also provides bereavement support for 650 friends and relatives within the borough.
It costs £3.5 million a year to keep the Hospice running and we need to raise 85% of this – over £3m. We do this through fundraising, grants, our weekly Lottery, through our charity shops and through legacy donations.
