i scan my old comics and make videos out of them so you can read them on your tv. i dont like the way new comics look with their bright white paper and flat digital coloring. give me the ben-day dots. my old comics are falling apart, so i'm scanning them for preservation. to get the most mileage out of that effort, i'm also making slideshow videos out of them because no one else has done it and i want to watch them that way. i do minimal edits to the scans. they're 600dpi and the black & white levels and color balance are changed slightly, just to offset some of the yellowing and fading, but i prefer to keep the paper texture and the feeling of reading an old comic book. most of these scans are from reprints from before the digital era. i'll use originals when i can but theyre pricey. in some cases i'll resort to using scans from the internet, if i cant get a hold of a physical copy myself, but that sucks
