I'm Emma Freeman, a Contemplative Mixed Media Artist and Teacher. I love to create art with old textiles, handmade fibers, naturally dyed fabrics and threads, beautiful papers, gathered nature, heart-led poetry, ink, paint and repurposed books. My process is sometimes slow, sometimes fast. I weave mindfulness, meditation and play into my art process. Sometimes my practice is playful, whimsical and light and other times it is deeply emotional and healing. I love stories and will sit and hold materials, touching them, wondering about them, going on scavenger research hunts to learn what I can about them. Art making for me is a whole body, mind, heart experience that I am obsessed with and nurtured by! I teach classes and retreats online and in person and love sharing what I am passionate about with people so we can create together. I'm a Highly Sensitive Person, sober and Buddhist too.
