Korvin Orkestar is a brass band out of Santa Fe, New Mexico blending contemporary styles with the brass traditions of Macedonia, Sebia, and Turkey. The evocative trumpet stylings, beefy trombones, thumping tuba, and exhilarating percussion will bring a smile to your face and dance grooves to your feet. Fronted by founder and brainchild Billy Juan the group blends evocative ornaments from the Roma and Balkan traditions blended with keen contemporary sensibilities. We are students of the Roma tradition and owe a great deal of gratitude to the masters and teachers Demiran Cerimovic, Nizo Alimov, and Benji Rafiti. Due to their natural instrumental talent and unique styles of the Char Rothschild (trumpet), Liv Orovich (trombone), Jordan Wax (accordion), Alan Kapulski (tuba) , and the powerhouse of percussive elegance provided by Nick Kunz and Max Kluger-Bell, Korvin Orkestar is a rarified music experience.
